Introducing Dr. Jason Richards, North Haven Chiropractor
I knew very little about chiropractic until after my wife announced to me that I was going to be a chiropractor!
It happened one Saturday morning when my wife, Alicia, crawled out of the house with crippling back pain and went with her friend to her friend’s chiropractor, Dr. Thomas.
Chiropractor = backs. That’s all I knew about the subject. An hour later Alicia walked into the house and made the announcement that changed my life–our lives. After some internet research and visiting Dr. Thomas, the choice to go to chiropractic school was easy.
It was the chiropractic paradigm of healthcare that won me over. My entire experience with doctors up to that point was about medication and/or surgery to correct health problems. Well, what about staying healthy? Chiropractic was the answer. The University of Bridgeport in Connecticut appealed to me most because of the small class size, low student-to-teacher ratio, and the excellent professors that taught there. What surprised me was how tough chiropractic school was! Alicia was relieved when I finally graduated after the four years and 12- to 14-hour days of class and study.
I opened my practice shortly after graduating. I have made it my commitment from the very beginning to treat my patients as valuable people and not as items on an assembly line or income-generators. My priorities are to educate my patients, help them feel comfortable and confident in the care they are receiving, and to deliver the best care possible. It is very rewarding for me to see the same patients year after year because they know that they are getting exceptional service and care!

My practice and commitment to my patients would not be as they are today without the help of my loving wife, Alicia. She keeps herself plenty busy with raising our three wonderful young boys, teaching high school part-time, and helping with my practice behind-the-scenes. My favorite thing in the whole world is to spend time with my wife and kids. We spend as much time together as we can and enjoy playing games, watching movies, swimming, and singing. My boys also love to help their dad with his various carpentry projects, many of which are still pending much to Alicia’s chagrin!
